Remarks:
So this guy has nice pattern and is one of the smallest Lightning Maroons I’ll have to offer.  Unfortunately, it’s lost the left ventral fin, and clearly has the pug-nose look that we generally don’t like.  There are also numerous minor fin issues, including a small missing chunk from the anal fin, a split in the dorsal fin, and a few short rays on the bottom of the caudal fin.  Being one of the smallest fish in the group, no doubt it took an unfair share of the abuse.  It is possible that this could grow up into a very attractive specimen despite these drawbacks.
Without a doubt, a fish like this would fall into my culling category for the missing ventral and pug face.  As with all fish being offered, the defects are not presumed genetic at this time, and the main reason for offering these fish is to broaden the size of the F1 population going forward (ensuring genetic stability where possible).
Update – 6/6/2014 – when going through my inventory on hand, I realized I couldn’t account for LM13 anywhere.  Thinking back, it is quite possible that since it was missing its ventral fin, I selected it as a possible mate for MWP3, and that LM13 is the one that was killed by MWP3.  I know, I know, I should keep more meticulous records.  In any case, LM13 is no longer here, and wasn’t sold, so it was either killed or perhaps jumped and I never bothered to record the loss.
